It might sound stupid but it seems like something they would’ve done by now. It majorly helps with pain and many other mental and physical issues. Why hasn’t Pfizer or another company patented some form of Mit as a legit doctor prescribed medication? It’s clearly low risk and works wonders.

I think that's why they're trying to ban it, so Pharma can get the rights to it. Right now it's just a plant that's considered a supplement more than a drug. I'm no expert and just guessing.

Probably for the same reason that synthetic Cannabis derivatives like Marinol never took off. The pot industry is booming, but the Dronabinol industry is not.
The median cost is about $19 million just to support the testing to get a new drug through the FDA approval process, and whether they admit it or not, I suspect everybody who matters knows that the health benefits of Kratom derive from a complex mix of alkaloids that can only be found in the plant rather than from some isolated factor like Mitragynine, or something that can be standardized in a way that is amenable to extensive double blind testing.
It would be extremely difficult and risky for a pharma company to attempt to monetize an isolate or synthetic derivative of Kratom, given how well established the market currently is for leaf and extracts. The would like to take our leaf and our money, but in my opinion it's never gonna happen.

Kràtom is relatively cheap. Maybe there's no money in making a pharmaceutical version of something that the consumer get on their own at a good price.
Now if it were ILLEGAL...

They can’t patent a natural substance. Since they therefore couldn’t corner the market, there’d be very little profit in it.

Exactly (what I was going to write).
They would have to see about doing extracts in some proprietary process. Which I DO think they are, but we won't know until it appears (but getting FDA approval is no easy road so I'll probably be dead if it ever happens).

Besides that, it's obscenely unpredictable, and full spectrum is the only way to go, just Mit and 7ohm aren't that great without.tne Entourage Effect/ all that other stuff.
They will never bother because they know something we don't know. It's not addictive. It would be like illegalizing and trying to capitalize on some natural form of aspirin or something. What's the point?
They like the stuff that leads to "epidemics" like
Opioids -----> opioid crisis ------> fent
Prescribed Amps ---------> shortage ---------> meth
GABA ------------> shortage? -------------> Phenibut?
And what do you know? Just.like with opioids, there is an Adderall shortage. See where I'm going here?
Pretty sure there's an uptick in meth production that goes with the amp shortage, but I wouldn't know because fuck that shit. Haha!
No chance of any "off-label" black market bullshit, if you wlll with kratom.

What E_ and Kelley and mivanqua said ... "They can't Patent a Plant".
ANY and ALL herbal medicine, is outside the scope of Big Pharma drug companies and "western medicine"... which is based on DRUGS and Lab chemistry... they "could" TRY to synthesize Mitragynine (they are probably working on it ?) - But in general it's known that... synthetic herbs SUCK (Big Pharma THC failed.)
It's been 30 YEARS - since the DSHEA Act was passed by U.S. Congress - making "Herbal supplements" LEGAL - before 1994, the FDA wanted to BAN most herbs! ~ Was a huge fight led by "The Mormons" & Senator Orrin Hatch - they control much of the Supplement business - And looky look - WHO controls runs and finances the AKA ??
You got it... The Mormons out of Utah. All the leaders of AKA - including Mac Haddow - are members of the Mormon Church!!! ~ https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dietary_S ... ct_of_1994

I had NO IDEA about the Mormons. That's fucking cool,! I wonder why though, so you think they use it themselves? I thought they couldn't take anything like that. Totally cound be wrong though. .
I didn't have anything against them before, but now I love them. Getting stuck in a train car from Arizona for two days with them isn't so great, but hey! We were all a little cranky. Haha! Love you guys
