Travel to the Philippines & legality

Hello everyone, I see another active topic about travelling with kratom in the USA. Does anyone know about its legality in the Philippines?

I plan on going soon and as far as I can see it should be okay. I have a connecting flight in Japan where it is illegal, so does anyone know if that should be a problem? I can't imagine because I'll be there for an hour and a half just for a transfer and I'm sure they'll just be throwing my bags from one plane to another. If I had to go through customs there it could however be an issue.

If not, perhaps I could just buy some when I'm there as it looks to be legal. Always kinda sketchy though in foreign countries. Thanks

Flying with anything questionable through Japan (not matter the length of time) is pretty risky because they don’t play.

Google search says kratom is legal in the Philippines, I suggest calling their consulate/embassy.

As for Japan, where you say kray is illegal... the only and best advice we can give you per rules here is don't take it there.

I looked it up online and apparently it's legal. I'm honestly really surprised. SE Asia usually has very strict laws around drugs/herbals/etc, even some food items are banned.

I spent 2 years in SE Asia and one thing I can tell you is that you do NOT want to mess around over there with drugs. They have capital punishment (death penalty) for drug offenses that would be minor offenses in other countries. They are extremely harsh on drug offenders because they do not want their ports being used for drug trafficking. So they have a zero tolerance policy.

I would definitely double check with the embassy.
