What situations should/should not predicate war?
When, if ever, should we drop the big bombs or caravan troops half the world away? Or now use drones hoping we hit the right target?

Relevant:

At this point I think the threat of war is much less than the threat of Putin going crazy and launching nuclear weapons without real provocation. Russia does not seem to have China's support (as far as this invasion) and would almost definitely lose such a war without it.
I think he might continue to escalate this with nuclear weapons, to get the west to back off. We might see more nuclear testing, or nuclear weapons positioned at the border. The only real threat Russia has (to western hegemony) is the threat of mutual destruction.
I would watch for what Putin says, above all else. See if other countries respond with nuclear threats as well.
That said, I want to believe that Putin isn't willing to risk that. He obviously loves (his perception of) his country and probably doesn't want it getting blown up. But he's also acting unpredictably, and if he continues to feel the west is 'escalating' things, he will continue to escalate too.

I want to be happy I want to be gay
I want to be normal in every way
But a mushroom cloud hangs over my dreams
It haunts my future and threatens my schemes
Peace, peace, peace where did you go?

He's put his Nukes on "High Alert" status which is threatening, right there... France has nukes, and Macron just stepped-up big time, in a long phone call w/ Putin... Hopefully we are seeing signs of a diplomatic Exit Strategy for the Russian madman, before he makes another worse mistake!! https://www.aa.com.tr/en/russia-ukraine ... re/2518540StringThing wrote: ↑Mon Feb 28, 2022 9:57 am At this point I think the threat of war is much less than the threat of Putin going crazy and launching nuclear weapons without real provocation.
