When I was 20 I hitchhiked with this guy who used paper maps to get us from Memphis to the gulf coast. He asked me for help with the paper maps, and I had no idea how to use them really. Dude also calculated his MPG on paper for years in the same thick notebook, and said he had more notebooks buried in his car. Stuff like that blows my mind. I freak out when I'm hiking and lose GPS. Should probably start bringing paper maps and learn to use them. Thanks for this link
