Alright so this is a anime made in 1998. It’s beautiful, and artfully done. One of my all time favorites. It’s complex, fresh, and something completely different than anything else. Now they made a remake in live action thats actually pretty good I thought but I can’t compare the two. To me the live action one they just made that just feels like it’s just lightly based on the original with not enough in common for me to think of it as anything but a completely different version with just the characters, and a couple of similar scenes in common. It honestly was not bad but lacked the depth of the original but I feel they did put in effort despite this; now if I did compare the two the I would say the new one was a painful, and horrible remake of the original that hurts to watch. It i treat them as completely different I would say I liked the live action show but I loved the original. What are your thoughts? I also pretty sure their gonna come out with a part two but it’s deviated to far away from the original already to ever be a real remake.

My thoughts on the series after finishing it:
The actor for Jet was spot on. Star of the show for sure. Other than being darker than the anime Jet, he WAS Jet. Like a 1:1 impersonation of him. Voice acting and appearance was spot on.
I was kind of disappointed with the other roles. Spike didn't seem like Spike to me, he seemed like a modern dude cosplaying as Spike. His face didn't look like Spike's. His lines weren't as 'cool' as Spike's because they tried to shove in so much dialogue.
Fae was... girlish? I don't really get it. Seemed super immature
Don't know what they were thinking with Viscous because they turned him into a little emotional baby when he used to be cold and ominous.
WHERE WAS ED the whole season? Ed is my favorite character. and it seems like they picked a good actor for her. I wanted the mushrooms episode.
Overall I didn't like the new story they created. It felt like a taped up version of the original. I would have preferred they either followed the episodes almost line for line, OR make up a new story with new characters. Maybe some other bounty that we can imagine they had in between the original anime episodes. Maybe even do both? Instead they made the whole thing about the Syndicate. A lot of the dialogue was really casual and weird too. Seemed like stuff the characters wouldn't really say. Even Jet suffered from this.
I ended up starting the anime over for like the 4th time after finishing the live action. I don't even like anime that much, but Cowboy Bebop is so undeniably good. Such a shame that the live action turned out like this. It had a lot of potential to be something fantastic.

Yeah I really love the anime but I agree every role beside jets felt out of character; I especially didn’t like faes character. Like you said they all said things, or acted in vicious case completely different than they did from the anime, and not for the better. I actually thought the actor that played spike was decent but his dialogue was either to comedic, or dramatic to me. I felt like they were either skipping important scenes, or making up new ones that didn’t fit with the original story. I think they should have made something completely different with elements from cowboy bepop but a different story. I feel like they kinda butchered it, and I think it got canceled. I think they ruined the beauty, and mystery feel to the anime. I’m a big fan of certain anime that have really good story’s. When they were making cowboy bepop they wanted to create something unique, and completely different from anything else at the time. I think they succeeded to the point where it can’t be remade, or at least not easily. Even if you don’t watch anime I think some are just so good anyone would enjoy them.
