If you had to choose between using cannabis and using kratom which would you choose and why?

I like a lot of things about mj - smell, taste and cooking with it, visual beauty of the trichomes, different strains and grow methods, cannabis culture, memories of good times as a kid, munchies, but I no longer like being stoned, lol.

I quite smoking a year ago because of probation , and really I don't miss it much. and it's not legal here and I don't want to mess with law enforcement AT ALL anymore , I have to much to lose. I get a lot more done these days , my business is doing pretty well and I think my decision to quit everything except kratom played a pretty big part in it . Even just the motivation to start it in the first place.

A year or two ago I might've said kratom.

Now I say hemp.

Hey StringThing can you recommend any ? I’d like to try some CBD but funds are tight and usually reserved for Kratom. But sometimes Kratom just doesn’t take away all the pain

If you want CBD on a budget I recommend Zero Point Extractions. They are a lab in Oregon that produces all their own CBG/CBGa/CBD/Delta-8 THC, and terpenes. They have some of the lowest prices I've seen with some of the best quality, but they only have distillate and isolate. Would not buy their flower.

If you want flower I'd check out Fern Valley Farms.

Cannot make a recommendation for edibles as I usually just make my own with concentrate, MCT oil, and sunflower lecithin. CBD isolate or distillate doesn't require decarboxylation so you can basically throw it into any regular food item as long as its fatty for absorption. Incredibly easy and cheap.

Thanks for all the recs. Sounds like I need to get a vape pen. I’ve been trying to educate myself on this subject. Can you tell me the role of terpenes ? Is that the stuff that makes weed so much fun ?

I use a Sai TAF with a Titanium bucket coil, but I would recommend a DvT4.

Terpenes IMO are just for flavor/taste. I haven't seen any evidence that they actually modulate the effect of cannabinoids. Some like linalool and limonene have their own effects but they're pretty damn subtle and better effects can be found from them by buying essential oils lol. Really love my lavender roll on, but its no indica. When people talk about the entourage effect they primarily are talking about consuming different cannabinoids, which do actually potentiate each other. Throw some CBC/CBG into your CBD and you'll see what I mean. It's why a lot of people are not big fans of isolate over 'full spectrum' concentrates.

For the poll I'd definitely have to vote kratom. I was never big into cannabis (though I am very attached to my CBD oil)... I keep some THC gummies around the house in case I need help getting to sleep because they knock me right out but I'm not a fan of the way it feels to be stoned. Or the smell, man the smell drives me crazy. I'm extremely sensitive to it for some reason.

But as far as benefits go, kratom just does so much more for me.

I've heard glowing reviews of THC muscle creams though. Really need to track some of those down.

I honestly think kratom will win this one over cannabis. Not until they make it 100% legal everywhere then i can see how many will use it synergisticly. Cannabis will be used night time sleeping aid since kratom is a gamble and can keep you awake by mistake, even reds.
