Weren't vapes causing serious lung damage? Or was that just a certain kind? I could have sworn I read something about that in the past year or so.
No. I am not going to look for sources right now. But an example of the tomfoolery that is going on: There was study at UC Berkley that studied the what kind chemicals were realized from a variety of vape products and a variety of temperatures. They were able to detect formaldehyde by burning certain vape juices at the highest temperature range involved in the study . Temperature ranges that no one in reality vapes at .
(look up UC Berkley vape study and you will see the flood of ridiculous headlines that omitted anything about what the study was actually about)
Healines declared. "UC BERKLEY FINDS DEADLY FORMALDyHyde FUMES IN VAPE SMOKE "
This is the headine from the daily mail . "Second-hand smoke from devices contain toxic chemicals that can irritate your eyes and skin".
After the flood of hysteric headlines two of the authors of the study issued a statement disputing the tone of the headlines and articles that their study actually showed that vaping was much safer than smoking because of the fact that it took them heating the juice to extreme temperatures before any toxic fumes were detected.
There was also a situation where people were black-marketing brand name CANNIBAS vape carts. These were causing health issues. I do not recall how severe or widespread they were. But the headlines and the articles never explained the actual situation. That the problem was caused by scammers making their own cannabis carts and trying to pass them off as respected cart vendors. - obviously using an inferior and dangerous process to make their scammer juice. Headlines at this time simply read "VAPING CAUsING LUNG DAMAGE"
It absolutely infuriates me . Evidence suggests that , while vaping might not be "safe" , it is about 90% safer than tobacco products. They do this thing about "The KIDS are vaping , we have to do something about this " How is that a problem ? That the group of kids who have smoked in the parking lot since 1946 are now using something that is 90% safer than cigarettes? What is the goal of the kids and vape hysteria ? To get those kids back on cigarettes like they were before ? There have been all these huge campaigns by various agencies to tell people how dangerous tobacco is and how they need to quit . And when 100s of thousands of people DO quit, for something much safer , then they launch a campaign against that? WT actual F . "Sorry adults who finally quit smoking. The stoner kids behind the school aren't smoking tobacco either - we're gonna shut it down."
This shit pisses me off . There are two developments in my life in the last 10 years that have absolutely and unquestionably raised my quality of life in ways that are almost miraculous. Kratom and Vaping . Smoking is a hard habit to quit. Everyone knows that. It's anecdotal, but I felt the changes in my own physiology dramatically and immediately . No more hacking in the morning , Spitting stuff up . AND , I could walk up stairs and run without running out of breathe.
It's the reason conspiracy theories catch on so quickly . A lot of times it looks like the powers that be are actively trying to kill us.
