What's everyone watching on Netflix right now
The wife and I have been really into batshit crazy documentaries so Tiger King and Don't Fuck with Cats were perfect.
Anyone else have any good recommendations?

Re: What's everyone watching on Netflix right now
Just finished Ozark season 3. Great show! It keeps getting better and better every season. Probably one of Netflix's best exclusive shows.
Witcher was great too (Even though the show is based on the books, I'm a huge fan of the Witcher games).
Next up: About to watch the Tiger King documentary everyone keeps talking about.

Re: What's everyone watching on Netflix right now
Ever since discovering FREE IMDb TV, tubi TV and pluto TV (thanks Ballz!) I have not been watching ANY Netflix!! But darned if I'm not still paying $15+ for it
Old habits die hard. And Netflix is dependable. Maybe I went searching for free streaming because Netflix's menu looked a little thin there for a while, though.
I admit that I like Amazon better. And here's a tip. If you are disabled OR on Medicaid/Medicare you can get Amazon TV and Amazon Prime for $5.99 per month. That is a BIG savings. I don't quite recall how I heard about this offer, but I'll make an effort if anyone is interested. It's a 'deal' you have to search for, but a great deal all the same. And my Guy can even watch content while I am too (and luuuuv that free shipping). All I had to do was follow their application steps then upload a copy of my Medicaid "card."
SORRY e! I wasn't trying to hijack your thread

Tubi is awesome.
Their selection is much bigger than Netflix and it’s free. I’m honestly surprised an ad-based free streaming service is viable. I would think the bandwidth costs would far exceed advertiser revenue, but I guess I’m wrong because they are only getting bigger lol.
Also, started that Tiger King documentary on Netflix. Interesting and strange...

I have Netflix but all I rly have used it for lately is stuff for my kid, Tiger King, the first season of You, and AJ & the Queen. I’m patiently awaiting another season of GLOW, tho... Doesn’t get better than high drama and lady wrestling.
I’ll give the Don’t Fuck with Cats doc a try tho.
I love Hulu, Plex, Disney+, WWE Network, HBO Go, CBS all Access, and FuboTV.

Ozark 3 was good. Better than season 2, IMO.
Locke and Key was aimed for an audience younger than me but I found it entertaining.

I’m watching Locke & Key now. Sometimes I’m entertained and other times it completely loses me. ‘I’m Not Okay With This’ is another one that’s aimed at a younger audience, but I ate it up from start to finish.kratomKonnie wrote:

Definitely bananas! Enough insanity/reality-TV feel that makes it entertaining! Don't forget it's all Carole Baskin's fault!Greyfeather wrote:I keep seeing references to The Tiger King, so after reading your post I looked it up. I usually don't watch much TV, but with all the suggestions, I started watching Money Heist and Ozark. What else have people been watching?

I'm an old school feminist but, ugh, Carole Baskin is a MONSTER. Everyone in The Tiger King is a jerk, imo, but Baskin is either a murderer or involved in one. It looks like the only reason she went after Joe Exotic with such venom was to deflect any negative attention from her own crimes.
Also, that was certainly a very slick and well produced docu-series. It's amazing how they were able to get such candid shots and so much information from all parties involved. It was cool that the Saff Saffery (the zoo manager who lost their arm to a tiger ) had the last word.

Shout out for Ozark, it has managed to not jump the shark yet ha-ha. Lots of interesting stuff showing up lately, "The Midnight Gospel" was a weird cartoon show I saw recently. And the new Seinfeld comedy special was alright, I mean it was good and all, it was just still 100% Seinfeld, so don't expect him to have changed or anything.

I don't think it's on Netflix yet, but the mini-series 'Devs' was pretty good. The writer/director guy obviously wants to be Christopher Nolan, but if you're gonna copy someone, you could certainly pick worse eh.

I don't know if I can watch Tiger King. I've actually been a follower of BigCatRescue on youtube for about 5 years. They are even my preferred charity on Amazon Smile! I'll be honest and say I'm not fond of all the Carol Baskin memes because I think it has cost the rescue tremendously. I just worry that the cats will suffer from all of this.

For sure, if you like wacky sitcom type shows then 'Community' will be a treasure for you in 2020 ha-ha. Did they get the last season, the one Yahoo or whoever did ? That one wasn't as good, but still.Burninator wrote:Community!

The 'Snowpiercer' series finally started up, and so far so good I guess. The fx look alright, and the acting is decent, it's just kind of re-telling the movie, with a little gimmick to make it last 10 episodes. I think it's on TBS though, not Netflix.

I was wondering about Snowpiercer. The movie was alright I guess but stretching that premise out for 10 episodes sounds painful.

I'm afraid you may be right. The first 1/2 of the first episode is basically the start of the movie re-done. Episode #2 was alright, but yeah, they have their little added-gimmick and they're sticking to it. Other than that, it'll probably just go into more detail and have some more subplots, but I'm not expecting anything radically different, I mean they're stuck on a train, this story isn't really going anywhere ha-ha.Burninator wrote:I was wondering about Snowpiercer. The new Patton Oswalt (I Love Everything) special was pretty good - and is on Netflix (unlike some of the shows I have mentioned ha-ha). Seemed like it started out great, then kind of fizzled out, ending with a 15 minute bit about taking his daughter to Denny's or something. But it starts out strong, and Patton is always a solid performer, so it's for sure worth a watch if you like stand up comedy.

Yeah, you got me there ha-ha. Last nights episode had another little gimmick in it, not sure if they're going that route for the whole show, or if it was just a twist for that episode. It's still not really a "must see" kind of thing, but it's a solid enough extension of the Snowpiercer story.Burninator wrote:

This will probably be an unpopular opinion, but I was super disappointed with that new Netflix 'Space Force' show. It was not 'The Office' in space - as I had hoped it might be. It just couldn't seem to pick a lane, is this a comedy, is it more subdued satire, is it a family drama, is it an action story ? It just seemed all over the place, unfocused, and maybe worst of all - boring and not very funny. Anybody else check it out yet ? Oh, big ups to John Malkovich though, for holding it together, without him, it would have been unwatchable ha-ha.

If anyone is looking for something different to watch, check out Black Spot on Netflix.
It's Twin Peaks meets X-files meets French noir. That's the best way I can describe it.
Each episode features a new "case" but there are lots of of continuous story lines at well, so watch it in order. It's in French but there's subtitles or a dub if you prefer.

Recently reinstated my girl crush on Alison Brie after rewatching Community, so I sought out some of her other works like Glow to watch too. From there I'll probably continue on to a few notable others like Nurse Jackie and Twin Peaks. All the moody gloomy stuff.
