I have alot of experience in the food service industry and cooking, but obviously that isnt getting me far these days.

Ive been trying to get into the construction industry and project management, but no one is hiring assistants right now.

Etsy?

im fucked.

Anyone have any leads on exciting markets to get into right now with minimal investment?

Well I myself am looking at the prospect of being a seller of dru--umm goods! ;)

But being serious, Grocery stores and warehouses like Amazon are in demand. But I guess it also depends on your living environment. I take care of both my parents and my father is especially in the highest risk target group, so if I were to work at a grocery store I bring the risk of getting and spreading the virus

Another prospect: You-tube and other social media platforms. Could maybe create a channel and hope to go viral (pun intended).

If you have any books you've written or wanted to write, self publishing is a way many authors/writers have made good money in the past few years (though no one has money for anything right now). I bet self publishing books SELF-HELP books are doing great right now. "How to pass the time and stay sane while waiting for the world to crash and burn" is the current title of what I am going to write, I think  ;) j/k

Good ideas. I may have to take a job at the local supermarket to make ends meet.

I'm in the process of completing google's Fundamentals of Digital Marketing course online. its very interesting and gives a pretty legit certification upon completion. https://learndigital.withgoogle.com/dig ... -marketing

In Texas where I live, there's something called Texas Cottage Laws which pretty much say you can run a small business out of your kitchen, given some basic requirements. under $50k/yr gross, no refrigeration required, etc

Im thinking of starting a CBD baked goods company or CBD loose tea or CBD skincare/lotion company. There seems to be a good profit margin if you order good quality CBD products from CO, etc.... but Jesus there are so many brands out there in that market. that's intimidating.

I made $100 today by "giving" kratom to furloughed co-workers. They thanked for me the kratom with some strange "green" paper with faces of white men on it. Could be useless or useful down the road for something

I've honestly thought of becoming a kratom distributor... MANY times over the last 6 years actually.

Could teach yourself programming (highly recommend https://www.codecademy.com/ to get started) or other related skills. Web developers (that's what I am), programmers, app developers, etc are ALWAYS in demand. I work from home and contract out for bigger companies.

Thanks. I gave one friend 4 ounces for 10$ and a roll of toilet paper (got 2 rolls yesterday, trying to build my stock up lol)

Strangely, this nightmare of reality has made me very creative. I have been writing with the goal of self publishing/publishing if lucky for about 6 years now. Most of it sucks and what I consider practice writing. But I have spent way too much time not writing, or just plotting and outlining, and used writer's block as excuse (and health and family health issues hurt the creative side).

The end of the world seems to get me inspired to put my thoughts/hopes down and out of my head. Glad I could help anyone even if just to provide a brief laugh. That makes me happy in turn.

If you're looking for something quick Amazon and Walmart, along with a number of other food and convenience stores are hiring.

Learning to code is great suggestion, and can be rewarding not just financially but creatively as well. But if you're starting from scratch it will take some time to get your skills to a marketable level. Best bet may be to look at tech companies that have entry level openings in technical support or even quality assurance.

In the ‘90s I studied play/screenwriting with a famous Russian exile. He was a sad man. He reminded me regularly “Art went to shit after we became a ‘democracy’. My best work I wrote when I was exiled to Siberia in the ‘70s.” And, yeah, it’s true.
But, closer to home, all we need do is look toward our black communities. They have literally LED every advance in every area of the arts. And those who could get past the white gatekeepers of every other field, have excelled there as well.
Sadly, my Russian mentor was right. Social/economic/political upheaval supercharges those who have the insight (AND energy) to advance our otherwise pathetic civilization.

But, back to your own situation: Maybe stock up on kratom and sell it person to person during this crisis. There’s no shame in up-charging because they need it NOW and you have it NOW. Also, they will be getting the absolute BEST kratom available in this country. No need to be a gross opportunist, but if you can provide a perfectly legal service, there is nothing wrong with making a small profit?

Oh I am. I never go on facebook but I just went on and went into my work's private page/group (whatever they're called) and posted that anyone who needed kratom could come see me. And said if anyone knows someone who needs kratom I'll pay commission for finder's fee haha. Delivery or pickup available! The entire staff knows what Kratom is and about 20 servers (and two managers) regularly buy from me at any given time. It took me a while and at first people looked at me like I was some hippie or crazy person but basically the entire staff can know given a basic explanation of what kratom is. I've had people ask me for some because another staff member told them about it. I never hid using kratom at work because I asked my manager and general manger if I could take it while working and "donate" it to anyone if others wanted to try/get some, and my GM was 100% fine with it and even tried it for himself and his wife (I made 100 capsules for him twice, but he said it was okay but he preferred to drink beer  )... At times there are kratom drinks - green mud looking shots is how people describe them- but these drinks are always lined up in the back or behind the bar. My GM refers to them as "K-Bombs" which I hate cause of how it sounds. In fact all of my managers have at one point tried kratom at the store. In over 3 years of taking kratom to work I've never had anyone get sick. I always start with a half teaspoon, for everyone, and educate them and give them info if they want.

It is pretty amazing how kratom at first was a stigma at work and now it is not only accepted and known, but it has become supported and my co-workers call out the bullshit they see the misinformation that pops up in the news. Education and knowledge is key, and since I really need it for pain and energy during my shifts, I decided to inform my co-workers if they asked about it. I never offer to sell it. I do, however, bring a bag that I keep in my locker with about 20 different small sample bags. JUST IN CASE, you know? :D :D

But back to my facebook post tonight, I noted that with all the vape and smoke shops shut down I could supply maybe much of the city  . I jokingly asked if anyone wanted to help start a business and go legit/start a website. I said now may be better time then any to get a side hustle. Who knows what people will say about the post. I've seen a bunch of other co-workers selling food through that same private work group page. Many of my co-workers live week to week and many are really struggling.

**I did offer to give away some kratom to anyone who needs it for free. I know several who actually get it from me and use kratom for various reasons. If those people are really hurting, I'll hook them up with something to get them by. I did make $100 through a few others who drove to my house to pick some up, mostly wanting it for upcoming hangovers (gotta love the service industry ;) )**

After turning a couple of friends onto kratom, and having them eventually come back and tell me "hmmmm.... I'm kinda hooked on this stuff", I've stopped telling anyone about it. I don't hide it, per se, but I do not encourage it to anyone who doesn't know what it is

I've only given kratom to three people. Two who were in withdrawals from hard opioids and one friend who had already had kratom before. He was buying headshop kratom at headshop prices and I couldn't let him do that.

An app called MyWorkChoice and others like it may be the easy, new solution to finding temporary and permanent employment as quickly as possible. The app connects jobs seekers with business owners and gets new employees trained for work in as little as 24 hours.
Only available in 9 states so far, but expanding quickly.

In my field you can start at entry level and move up quick if you try hard and learn everything you can. I do structured cabling/ low voltage/ construction. I use all those terms because the company I work for does all and at least where I'm at I can do all of the above from day to day. Right now I currently work in a live data center. Building racks, demo old equipment, pulling, dressing, splicing, and testing fiber and so on. Low voltage cat 5 cat 6 terminating. I started with a temp service and moved up got hired on. They have no experience entry lv employee start all the time. Great pay and you can really work your way up. It's some of the easiest work I have ever done and some days it's construction and hard but 95%of the time it's a walk in the park. It can be physically demanding but it's not hard. Some weeks I walk 30+miles easy. But it really is great and it's a field that will be around and constantly have work. We finished one data center and move to another. by the time we make our rounds to site D site A is ready for updates and renovations on all there equipment. The equipment is constantly getting better and data centers have to keep up. Where do you live if you don't mind me asking? My company has locations all over maybe in your area?

Ok, so... I realize that this is an old thread; but, you may also want to check out https://www.freecodecamp.org/. I worked through this one, and it's truly free, start to finish.

If you were a waiter/waitress and good with people, then never rule out sales. Personally, I am 110% not that personality, but if you are, then go for it, they are always looking for someone who can sell - and that starts by selling yourself at the interview. :) Well, technically it starts with a good resume/application I guess, but you get the idea.

Concrete work. If you can learn to run a shovel your hired. The starting wage should be close to double your fast food, within 3 weeks you'll feel and look amazing. Go old school and call every concrete company , say I don't have any experience but I can run a shovel. You will get hired.
