Missing my aminal bebses

Post by IndelibleDotInk »

Max (cat), Mei (dog), Levi (cat).

I have no grief for Kirk (cat) and Scottie (cat) who were my cats when I was in elementary school. I guess I'm so far from the distance of their passing.

We got a new cat, an older one named Crystal. Taking care of her was part of some rental agreement my parents' friend had, and so my mom said she'd take over. She wasn't mistreated, but neglected, and loves my mom now, but isn't really interested in me. I wonder if she will come around or die before she does.

Hey man! (I actually lost my login info for mewe, sorry for disappearing on you)

It's awesome that you're taking care of an older cat. There are many that are abandoned or die in shelters because so many people only want kittens. You're doing Crystal a great service and even if she isn't interested in you just yet, I'm sure she appreciates sharing your home with you.

This might sound corny but a friend who volunteers at shelters told me that whenever they have a skittish cat come in, she sits on the floor outside its cage and reads to it, and more often than not, they get used to her presence enough to be more social. I have no idea why but a lot of cats just like to hear people's voices. Doesn't sound like Crystal is scared of you but hey, might be worth a shot.

My mom does that, sit where the animal is hiding and just stay or read for a few hours plus foods. Highly effective!

Yeah, I was wondering where you were; great to have you back.
