Colorado must-do activities
Hoping to visit my nephew, my sis, and her hubs Shrek in July (hope hope). We'll be in Colorado Springs, which is close to Denver.
On my list of stuff to do is the gator farm (https://coloradogators.com/) if we can drive that far and back, it's several hours away.
and The Incline hike, it's about 1 mile of steps. That's 2x the length of our Koko Crater tramway hike here, which I used to be able to do regularly. I expect to take it slow and easy, and coming down is like 4 miles of walking a cutout trail. I am no longer in a fit physical condition, so this might take a whole day, lol.
Any ideas?

Definitely go spend a day in Boulder. I lived there for a few years, it's beautiful. It would be a great town to visit for lunch and take a walk through the downtown shopping area. It's only about an hour from Denver, would make a great little daytrip. I want to go back there to live someday. I loved living there, but life had other plans.
While you're in Boulder, pop on up to a little town called Nederland. Some good hiking around there.
And I also recommend checking out Red Rocks Amphitheatre if you've never seen it. It's a famous concert venue.
Also, don't forget kratom is banned in Denver. Leave the stash at home.

When I went to visit sis graduating from Colorado Christian University, my uncle took me and grandma to Boulder. As my uncle waxed on the beauty of the places we drove through, my grandma said, "beautiful, beautiful, how long gonna be beautiful?" and shook her head. She had a great sense of practicality.
Got it, Red Rocks.
e_, did you go to school at Boulder? I considered college there, but UNLV was ranked at #1 party school over #2 Boulder. Seriously.

No, I didn't go to college at Boulder, my sister did though. I went to Ohio State for a bit. Never graduated though, college wasn't for me.IndelibleDotInk wrote: ↑Sun Jun 06, 2021 2:34 am e_, did you go to school at Boulder? We lived in Colorado from 2012-2015 (Fort Collins). 2 of our children were born there
. Absolutely beautiful state. Every free moment we had we spent in Rocky Mountain National Park. If you're staying down South, be sure to visit the Royal Gorge. We made a road trip up there in April to show the kids the mountains. We love and miss Colorado!
