Got Your Stimmy?
So, the BIG payday we have been promised (thx Joe). I received the others in good time but not this one. My bank's homepage even has a nice message about making sure no one tries to maliciously separate us from our new-found wealth (scammers!)

Not yet. Should be any day now? Last Stimulus Check $600 was received faster, within days.
The Banks could be hanging on to funds for a week, to grab some Interest $ before releasing it?

Re: Got Your Stimmy?
The last stimulus my son got his 2 weeks after I did and we bank at the same credit union, same branch. This time he got his ACH Pending notification by the Friday evening the bill was signed and I didn't get mine until late Tuesday and I was freaking.right.out. over it. "Mom! Remember I got the last one two weeks after you? Calm down!" DON'T TELL ME TO CALM DOWN!!
It went straight into savings, along with every other spare dollar that comes my way.

Not yet, but I did file my taxes the day after the IRS opened (Feb. 13th) and got my tax return before they passed the latest bill....Which has something in it about making unemployment monies not-taxed for 2020, so I guess I need to re-file ? Not even sure at this point. *sigh*

$1400 is a lot of disorder when it comes to kratom. That'd be a pretty big order, and double in pounds. <badum-tsh>

Wow. I can't believe it was only 8 days since I asked for feedback about the stimulus checks - feels like an eternity
.
And I still haven't seen a deposit from the gov. in the bank. My Guy DID get one - in the mail - today so Yay! He can really use it, as can I. Thank you all for your replies and comments.
Anyone else here still feeling 'left out'???
Keep staying safe everyone. I hope your weather is as beautiful as ours turned out today

By any chance are you on any kind of Social Security? I've seen a few articles about Social Security slowing down payments for people because they are dragging their feet on giving the IRS the banking info they need. Or something.
The head of Social Security reminds me of Louis DeJoy.

Still nothing here, but I don't have direct deposit set up for it. I just hope it's a normal check and not one of those evil debit cards again.
"Social Security Stimulus Check Delay Blamed on Lack of Staff Funding"
https://www.newsweek.com/social-securit ... rs-1579030
Something about the previous president cutting funding for a ton of govt. services.
Added : I am not on social security, and I already filed my 2020 taxes and got my refund early in March. So whatever the problem is, it's neither of those things for me in this case. No worries though, I've got rent money for April, and still almost 2 kilos of kratom from last year and the black friday sales.

I guess if you want to just activate it and spend it at stores then it's not a big deal, just call the phone number, wade through the audio menu and choose a PIN. My landlord however, doesn't take debit cards, so I had jump through a LOT more hoops to get it transferred to my bank account. I just prefer the check, then I can sign it and deposit it in 90 seconds on my way to the grocery store, no messing with some website and making an account and filling in 10 pages of info and waiting 3-4 days etc. Again, not a big deal if you just want to spend it at the store.Greyfeather wrote: ↑Tue Mar 30, 2021 2:10 amAnd now I'm curious about the Evil Debit Cards. Re: Got Your Stimmy?
Pro tip = set up the PIN first, then your first attempt to transfer the money from the card to your account won't fail. In my defense, it was late in the evening, and it made sense at the time that I had entered the number on the card and that would be enough - since it didn't ask for the PIN. But the card must be activated first, which means calling the phone number and setting the PIN. Or maybe you'll get lucky and just get a dang check like in ye olde days when life was easier etc.Greyfeather wrote: ↑Wed Mar 31, 2021 3:22 pmOh. Hell. So I got another one of those dumb debit cards today for the $1400 one. I figured no worries, I did the hard part the first time. Turns out you havta set up a whole new account and do it all over again from scratch, the account I made last time was tied to that card for $600. What a racket.

Added : O.k., this time it only took 20-24 hours to transfer the money to my checking account. Last time it was nearly 2 days. Funny how they can take money out of your account with a debit card instantly, *snap*, it's gone, but to give it back in the case of a refund, or to transfer it like this takes a day or more. And by funny, I mean suspicious. But yeah, like I said before, be sure to activate your card first (duh) and then go set up an account at that debit card website, and you can transfer direct to your bank with about 10-15 minutes worth of clicking and entering all your info etc.onespeedstop wrote: ↑Thu Apr 01, 2021 6:33 pm So I got another one of those dumb debit cards today for the $1400 one. Re: Got Your Stimmy?
Apologies if I might've missed someone else saying this upthread, but have you used the IRS website's Get My Payment tool? If you put your info in, it should tell you the status of your stimulus - they might need more information for you or something like that. For a while my own payment status was "you're either not eligible OR we need more information" and it drove me nuts until it cleared itself up because those are two very different things, haha.onespeedstop wrote: ↑Tue Mar 30, 2021 5:34 pmWell, that makes me nervous....I'm not on SS, and April 7th is only 8 days away. I'm so sorry that getting your rightful benefit was so much trouble. But I'm certain that sharing has been helpful to some folks. Now I know what to expect in the event. I have read talk of further stimulus payments. I only hope that 'they' learn from these mistakes the next time around.

Re: Got Your Stimmy?
Eh, I'm pretty used to things being over-complicated, I was mostly just warning people what to expect ha-ha. Oh, and speaking of hurdles, after all that I went to make a direct deposit account at the IRS. I must not have logged in there for a few years now (maybe 2015 or 2016 I want to say) and my old account was dead, they even gave my username to someone else ha-ha. So I'm setting up a new account there and they want to txt me a security code, well, I don't have data on my phone plan so it fails a few times. What's the back up plan you ask ? See the email I got below....The same thing happened recently where eBay now requires a phone number to even log-in to your account, not just to make one, to even log-in to one I've had for a decade or more. So same thing, they want to txt me a code, but, they have the option of a computer voice calling me with it. Paypal is more tech savvy than the IRS in 2021.Greyfeather wrote: ↑Sat Apr 03, 2021 12:21 am GOOD GRIEF onespeed!! Three posts and each one worse than the last. What a freakin' nightmare.
