Someone recently gave me some Blate Papes, and I finally got brave enough to try one this morning. I'm glad I did!

Blate Papes is a brand name, there are others, but having checked their website - blatepapes dot com - I'll be buying from them when I run out. They seem to be really good people

In a nutshell, you put your measured leaf on a 5"x5" (or so) VERY thin piece of potato starch "paper", fold the corners and sides over to make a "pouch", hold it by the corners, dip it in a cup of water for a second to get the outside of the pouch wet, pop it in your mouth, and swallow with water! No taste - and it slides right down

I saw last night on their website that the company is currently out of stock but should be shipping again in early February. There are a number of YouTube vids about how to use these (be sure to watch Joey Talks' Review vid), and Blate Papes' website is also very informative - give them a look! Their story is very interesting; a married couple developed Blate Papes as an easy way to take foul tasting supplements (they're both health and fitness fanatics), and it appears that they also use kratom - they have a whole page about that.

I've been using blate papes for months, I'm very glad to have found them. So much better then toss and wash. It took me a few times to get the wrapping technique down but after that it's been super convenient.

Blate papes are great! I don't use them anymore because I actually really like the taste of kratom lol so now I just do t & w

Blate pape pouches have been a lifesaver for me. I can't stomach toss n wash, and parachuting wasn't for me. I ordered some with my YLYL order and they are so helpful.

The oblate discs changed my kratom life! Toss and wash is not even something I could imagine being able to do the way my body works. Orange juice has more sugar than I would like sometimes. Definitely a bit of a process if you do larger doses and can't swallow big things. But having them be flat squares in stead of balls helped me a great deal to get them down. I am glad other people know about these. If you can't handle the taste of earthy things or want to limit orange juice this is definitely the way to go! Thanks for making this post!

I'm impressed - not sure yet just how much you can successfully get on one Blate Pape, I'm still working on the technique Yesterday I tried putting the "pape" in a shot glass and putting a measured amount in after it - and it worked - but the shot glass was about a third too deep. I think I have a smaller one.

I've been measuring doses on a scale in a small plastic lid (from a Johnny's Seasoning jar!), and the lid is a bit too large to easily poor into the shot glass without spilling leaf. I need to find something that won't overwhelm my scale (it only goes to 20 grams, so the shot glass itself is too heavy). I'll figger it out

Much easier to get the pouches, they come with a stand, you put the pouch in the stand, fill it with kratom, lift the pouch out to weigh on the scale and you know what it weights minus the weight of the pouch which is .8 or .9
then adjust the weight till you get the weight you want and then lick and fold

I got mine from Fused Flora and love them. I still T&W for my kratom but a lot of my nootropics are a whole new level of horrible taste so I use them for those.

Typically what I do is on a small folded piece of paper (so there is a line for it to slide down neatly) weigh the dose. Then dump that into a little scoop I got in a powder energy drink container I got forever ago. Then tap the scoop for a minute to pack it all down into a little disc shape. I have gotten up to 2.5 grams on a blate disc, but prefer to stay around 1.75g seems to be the right size for me to swallow easily with a drink. I have noticed some kratom doesn't pack as well and can be bigger at the same weight so 1.75 has worked as a size for me. Not good at swallowing big things. I have a hard time with the regular capsules that kratom are in.

It is the only way I take Kratom now. However, Blade Papes are only 4x4 inches -- I dearly wish they were five inches. I have very large hands and end up breaking the little bundles once I reach four grams or a bit over. I know the guy who owns that company is in this forum -- hopefully he'll consider making a slightly larger size.

(I know there are other brands of starch films from Japan where this method originated but I found Blade Papes more cost effective).

The only larger "papes" I saw on Amazon were rice starch candy wrappers, 4.7 inches by 4.7 inches. They were actually a bit cheaper so I tried them but the extra size didn't help much because they are slightly thicker than Blade Papes and sometimes crack when you twist them. I'll stick with Blade Papes in future.

Note: If you are an older person and have swallowing difficulty -- aka aphasia, where stuff gets stuck sometimes -- don't put more than 4 grams max into a Pape bundle. I made a rather messy bundle with 5 grams in it and it got stuck.

While I think it's pretty much impossible that one could suffocate -- they are only filled with powder and would almost certainly dissolve enough to come up or go down completely before you were in any danger -- having your airway completely closed off is really unpleasant even for a couple of moments. I ended up gagging and hurling into the toilet which wasn't a lot of fun, and wasteful besides. If you need to take more than 4 grams, I suggest using two separate papes.

And if you haven't tried them yet, don't let my warning discourage you. Even though the Pape bundles are bigger than say, size 00 capsules, they get slimy when wet and actually go down a lot easier. I can only pack about 500 mg of Kratom into each 00 capsule so it is much more pleasant to swallow 4 grams at once using a Blade Pape -- plus they dissolve completely nearly as soon as they hit your gut!

Blate Papes is an awesome company. You can get them on Amazon but when I do get them I DEFINITELY go to Blape Papes. The owner ja super cool too. It took me some practice and getting used to in the beginning but it's definitely worth it. That shit used to get stuck in my throat

Hannah and Harrison, the product inventors and company owners, come around here every so often as to maintain a presence and take out suggestions.

So they reformulated the ingredients and are working with a top Japanese company. Soon they will have larger sizes, 4x4 pouches.

I love blate plates but am kinda confused why they want 15 bucks for a refill kit on Amazon when the whole case with the plates is only 8.50 on luckys website but they don’t sell refill packs. They are 13 dollars on blate plates refills on the blate plate website, and you probably got to pay shipping to. I thought they were lowering prices but I feel like they got higher.

Unfortunately there's a supply issue on Amazon with the Japanese pouches, I used to get 100 for $10.99, then they went up to 12+ then 13+ and now sold out again and some jerk selling for 17+. Also they used to take no more than a few days to arrive and shipping time changed to 2 months! The last time I saw they were back in stock I bought a few because I go thru them faster than you'd think and I'm afraid they'll go way up in price and be harder to get forever like they are now, but Blate Papes said they'll be sure to not run out again because they've been sold out too" hope so. A few vendors probably have some still from their original product which was cheaper and not pouches.

I’m actually talking about the 200 count refill packs specifically. After you buy the case, and run out you buy a little plastic refill pack to put in the container you already have if you kept it for a cheaper price but not now unless you find a vendor with a good deal on them it appears.

I never saw those, I got some BP samples before they had pouches but if those are pouches I'll be looking for them for sure.

No they are not pouches the 4*4 sheets of oblate paper that they sell cheaper than the pouches. I’ve never tried the pouches but the square sheets work great, and hold more. You should give them a try. I’m surprise the owner of blate plates has not commented. I’ve never really spoke to the guy but he seems to really care about his product, and it shows through his excellent blate plates. I would like to hear his thoughts because if I remember correctly he commented about lowering his prices to be the best value oblates out there. Even if his products are more expensive I would still buy them though because of the quality. If he ever needed someone to test a new oblate I would be happy to.

I have the 4x4 squares, just used to the ease of the pouches which I know he carries now. The pouches can hold a lot more than I choose to put in them because I don't like them too big.

I agree... oblates are the way to go...but just a PSA: Last summer, I cracked a rib trying to give myself the Heimlich Maneuver on the back of a chair when a kratom filled, oblate disc got lodged in my throat! It was a horrific experience but it was pretty much entirely my fault as it was probably overstuffed and I didn't drop it in water first as the directions suggest.

I switched to oblate pouches, which hold more and I let it sit in my mouth with liquid for 5 seconds before swallowing it.

I can't seem to get t&w to work.... I always wind up with the entire contents of my mouth all over myself!

I totally understand the oblate ripping open. I’ve had that happen like 3 times each time horrible. I though I was gonna die one time but like you said I think it’s an issue of overfilling them I don’t put more than three grams in my oblate vs the 4 I used to do, and have had no problems really I do exactly what you do toss in my mouth take a sip a water then swallow after a few seconds. So glad to finally be getting more in the mail tomorrow because just can’t do toss, and wash plus tea requires prep so I almost always use oblates.

The breaking happened to me once too while sitting in my car in a parking lot, tried to take one with a straw and it broke and went in my nose and throat and all over me and my car and I had to open my door and puke and of course there were people in the car next to me. My nose and throat burned for hours. I learned never use a straw or a drink with ice because both slow the flow into your mouth. I also keep mine a little under 2.5g.
