REVIEW - Inland Botanicals -
Website
I became acquainted with
Inland Botanicals, during Summer 2017 when they advertised a Welcome sampler on Reddit. Many veteran kratomites took advantage of that special, and reported back. Just about everyone was surprised at the quality and potency. Those reviews may still be found on Reddit.
This online vendor is located in Idaho, a region known as "The Inland Empire". A small family business, with deep knowledge of their product, offering a unique variety of kratom that cannot be found elsewhere. It's definitely worth trying!
I received many 10-gram samples from Inland. Half of them were popular strains like Maeng Da, Malay, the others were custom blends. Each of the samples I have taken separately, as my main dose or "big dose" of the day. I take kratom usually twice each day, with my major dose coming around noon on an empty stomach.
Each sample was prepared the same way. I stir my kratom in hot water, cool then freeze each dose overnight. This really brings out the alkaloids. I drink a Kratom Smoothie which is filtered using a stainless steel Tea Infuser. I found no large particles or anything unusual in the samples. Grind was very fine. Color of the powder was shades of green. None of the samples were heavily fermented or rusty in color. In order to fairly judge this kratom - I tried
eight samples on alternate days from my regular line-up. I believe my own stash is fairly strong quality, so any "Test" Sample MUST compete with top strains from a dozen other vendors!
Let's start with their best:
Red Maeng Da. This one sets a standard for
RMD quality. I got a definite strong buzz, mood uplift and pain relief. Anyone moving from pain pills, to kratom - this RMD is your ticket. The White Maeng Da was also quality leaf, and their Green Malay pretty decent too. Both Red & Green Bali's are well done, I want more! If you're new -
Get some Inland and you'll know what good kratom feels like!!
Custom Blends from Inland are well done. I'm not really a fan of vendor blends, since I import from Indo myself and roll my own. I like to know the original Indo "strain" which is usually a blend anyway. But I sampled three IB blends: "The Bulgarian", Green Lantern, and Yellow Brick Road. None of them hit me quite as good as their Maeng Da, but I did enjoy The Bulgarian.
Never have I heard, a discouraging word, about Inland's kratom! Customer Service is top notch! Prices are a few bucks more, compared to the cheapest guys - BUT seems like they have an exclusive, dedicated
Indo Supplier who is turning out some really nice leaf... Website selection is evenly distributed - In addition to their five custom blends, they stock 4-5 each Red, White & Green strains, and a few Gold & Yellow strains, lots to choose from.
I'm way behind on doing reviews! I hope Gina @ Inland will accept my apology, it took a couple of months to test their samples

I received my order from Inland just a few days ago and have really been enjoying this leaf. I ordered large amounts of the Green MD, Red Bali, Green Malaysia and White MD. I have smaller amounts of their blends which consist of the Bulgarian, Yellow brick road, Green lantern and Solar flair. They also sent me samples of a few other strains that I cannot remember the name. Usually I am a tea drinker due to stomach issues when I used to always toss and wash or capsule my powder, but for the sake of trying new strains, I tend to toss and wash to feel the full effects.
Green MD-This has been my favorite from Inland so far. It is very uplifting and gives me energy almost like I had mixed a white and a green. I took this one last right before a power flow yoga class and I had such good clean energy for the class, and I was also very relaxed in the mind during the final poses. I recommend this one highly because it is such a clean feeling and also very potent as I took less than my usual dose. 9.5/10
Red Bali- This one is very sedating for me, in a good way. I become very relaxed but not sleepy. I am able to take it in the evening and still stay awake for a movie in a blissful state. Very uplifting for my mood as well. I am dealing with somewhat ofa bad breakup, and well it is nice to have a strain that helps to keep me calm and happy. If you like reds, this one is a great fresh one. 9/10
Green Malaysia- Another great green from Inland, not as good as their Green MD, but it is very very close. I would say that this one has less energy than the Green MD but more of a moodlift. This one is also very potent as I used 2g t&w, where as I usually take 2.5-3g. When I said not as good as the Green MD, I meant different I guess. I like energy from my strains so that is why I prefer the MD to this one, but I am not knocking this one at all, it has great mood lift with still some great clean energy. So if that is what you like, then this one is for you. 8.5/10 very long legs on this one btw
White MD- I literally just took this one about 30 minutes ago so it is just coming on. It gave me the energy to start this review so I guess that is good. I cannot really explain too much about this one yet, but high energy so far so that is sweet.
WhenI try the blends and other samples I will definitely post more about them. I am excited for their blends as they have really cool names and I have heard a lot about the yellow brick road. I am also excited to try more of their regular strains and start making my own blends of their leaf because it seems such high quality. I tend to get headaches from certain strains and vendors and that really messed with my kratom experience, so I am on the hunt for what works best for me and keeps those darn tension/pressure headaches at bay. RESEARCH is key for me.

Great review, NMKrato. I’ve got the Red Bali and Bulgarian on the way with a chosen sample of Red MD. Hopefully they throw in something else to sample. That Green Malay sounds right up my alley. Wish I waited and read your review before I ordered. I’ll put the Malay and Green MD on the list for my next order.

I think Inland is top notch. Their product is potent and worth every penny, and I am never without their Yellow Brick Road blend. Also, for my fellow insomniacs out there, Counting Sheep us the best blend for bedtime.
Great review!

Based on the reviews I checked out their Web site. I'm sure the quality is good but if I ordered 4 quarter kilos at $42.50, for that price I could get 2.5 kilos from RVA.
While their kratom is probably very good I doubt if Inland's stuff is that much better.

It's pretty great stuff but I have not tried RVA. What would you suggest from them at the moment? I'll grab a split kilo of what you suggest Blends to compare. Thanks

Yep. Inland is definitely at the upper limit of acceptable pricing.. And that's based on comparing
single Quarter Kilo's the PPG is
around .20 (or maybe .18 depends on shipping & value of extra's) There is a range.. From the .11 cents of
RVA and Mystic, up to .18 with Inland, Golden Rule, Stan David, etc.
However buying at the
Split Kilo level.. PPG gets down around .10 and lower. Does Inland offer a split kilo discount ? Seems like they have a Coupon right now, for an extra 100 grams/ 1000. (Or 50 added to 500.) With no further discount, that split kilo = $170 for 1100g = a PPG of .15 cents with free shipping. Compare that to a
K-OG split kilo for example, $92 for 1000g shipped = PPG of .09 cents for K-OG quality.
Price is one thing.
Quality is another.. I think if you interview a dozen
experienced kratom vets, they would say Quality IS important.. And veteran users DO prefer to spend a little more. Even TWICE as much, price per gram... Many guys, have accounts at DG Botanicals, Mmm Speciosa, (for example), vendors who specialize in Premium or Enhanced leaf.
I think it's fair to say, RVA and Mystic are seen as "Commercial" kratom, compared to the "Connoisseur" product imported in small batch / exclusive suppliers - Is Inland's leaf up there with DG? Everyone needs to figure that out... New kratom users "n00bs" seem to enjoy pretty much anything. After a couple of years, tolerance builds up & I think we tend to get more particular about our kratom!

Thanks Ballz, I'm going to try them next!
What I'm more curious about is your warming and freezing. Can you explain this process more? I'm fascinated. I do a green smoothie every morning but how do you take your kratom at night then?

I been wondering this method as well. After you freeze it, and get a 'red bubble' how do you seperate that bubble from the rest? When you thaw it doesnt this bubble mix back in?

The bubble may disappear but once the freezing ruptures the cells walls and releases the contents they will not "unrupture" when the mixture warms.

I dealt with Nathan and Gina yesterday during thanksgiving and was able to get a order in. Now that’s dedication! They seem like really nice people! There customer service is great! I’m so looking forwards to trying there red Borneo, red Bali, red mg d and there green Bali! I’ve had some of there leaf a couple weeks ago and was impressed. I paid a little more for a kilo than what I woukd genereally pay, but if there leaf is anything like it was a couple weeks ago, the extra I spent will be well worth it. Nathan actually split the kilo up 4 ways for me for a few extra dollars. I’m stoked with inland botanicals so far

I received my first shipment from Inland today. I am extremely impressed with their customer service and the product. I ordered 1000 Grams of white maeng da and their November promo included a 110 grams of samples. I got 50 g of white Borneo, 50 G white Indo, and 10 grams of the Bulgarian. I have yet to try the Bulgarian or the Indo, but the maeng da and the Borneo are right on point. I will be using Inland again in the future. I highly recommend them to those looking for a new vendor after Johnson's went down.

I will say that Inland’s Red Bali is on another level for me. Went to reorder and all they had left were 50’s. I hate paying that much for leaf, but that Bali was well worth it.

Can anyone recommend some good fast strains? I'm going to pull the trigger on a kilo next Friday. After that I should be stocked up enough that I can wait on k-og to get back to me.

I have to second the love for Inland's Red MD, and I'd also throw in the Green MD. This vendor is fantastic, if not a little too expensive. The Bulgarian is a phenomenal blend. Just wish they were cheaper.

I got the Bulgarian last week and it was a little disappointing because I know several people have commented that it was great for them. I guess it just didn’t click with my body chemistry. Their Red MD was good and their Red Bali was exceptional. I tried the White Bali yesterday and it was also exceptional. The Gold Bali surprisingly didn’t do it for me though. Hoping to try their Green Malay and Green MD soon. They are definitely not the cheapest vendor out there but I am happy to pay top dollar for exceptional leaf - and some of their strains are exceptional leaf.

Is there a way to get a split kilo? I put 4 250 gram bags in the cart and it came out to 177 dollars . On a side note kratom og is not accepting any new orders according to his site. I was really wanting to try them out.

No problem I don’t know how much that will help on the price but make sure to ask for a first time coupon or any coupon for that matter. There a bit over priced but I loved everything I got form them and customer service is too notch. Really fast shipping also.

It is a bit pricey but if it's as good as everyone says then I'm ok with it.

I have, and I liked it enough to grab 250g. It's a white/green blend. Not the strongest blend I've had, but really really nice. Worth picking up as a sample to try for yourself.
