Feedback on Blate Papers oblate discs

Post by ybanurse247 »

Just for transparency I did recieve my blate papers for free. The vendor had offered free oblate discs to the first 5 people who posted that they were interested in trying them. Also my method of dosing is purely toss n wash or some people call it reverse toss n wash. I have done red bubble twice but I usually just stick with the ol' standby. I did want to try oblate discs for those strains that are super bitter or I have some strains that are nano grind and I don't particulary care for those simply because it tends to get all over your mouth and teeth much easier then regular or coarse grind.

Even though these were free the shipping was super fast imo. I believe I read in their original post that you can purchase them off Amazon and my pack contained 200 papers in a plastic sleeve with instructions and photos. They have also uploaded several how to videos on YouTube platform which I found to be very helpful since this was my first time using them. Their "claim to fame" and what makes their papers different then other brands is their shape, they are square where most papers are round. The shape enables the user to fill them with a larger dose (granted you have to be able to swallow it!) and they are also all natural and vegan. They cannot be filled ahead of time because you have to fill then dunk in water to seal them and then swallow immediately otherwise they will bust open rather quickly.

Needless to say I put off trying these for awhile simply because I was nervous to try something new lol. The first time I used one I put my whole dose in one which was around 3.2g and trying to swallow that bad boy wasn't easy. It was a bit difficult, the packet broke in the back of my throat and I had to drink quite a bit of liquid to get it down. I don't blame the papers though, this was simply user error for sure. I put them away for a few days.

A few days later I gave it another go but this time I split my dose in half as I normally would with toss n wash. I put about 1.4g into a paper, drenched in water, then swallowed it and everything worked fine. When I made my second half I must have torn the paper somehow so this one didn't go down as smoothly, lots of Kratom in the back of my throat which wasn't pleasant at all. Again, I am not blaming the product. I honestly believe that the issues I had using them were user error only. If you do use oblate discs as your preferred dosing method I think you would like these. I appreciate the packaging on them and detailed instructions as well as videos. Their customer service is top notch, they have fast shipping, and they are available to answer any questions or concerns. I think the shape of them is very unique and looking on Amazon at other manufacturers I did not see another square oblate paper so that's pretty cool. You have to be very fast with your dipping and then swallowing and I'm sure this just takes patience and practice for a newbie. I don't believe I will be switching to oblate discs as my sole method for Kratom ingestion only because I'm used to toss n wash and I'm comfortable with that. In fact the Kratom taste doesn't bother me nearly as much as it did in the beginning. Hope this review is helpful to those that do use this method!!

I tried the blate papes as well and I love them. One of their benefits is their thickness and their color. They are thick enough so you only take one out of the package at a time versus using 2-3 papers of the competition’s. With other papers there is no way to make sure you are using only one. The blate papes are nice and thick plus they are opaque. I actually tried to use 2 as an experiment and I couldn’t. They were too thick. I don’t dip mine in water. I just hold it closed, take a swallow of water and hold it in my mouth until it gets slick then swallow it. My only suggestion would be to create pre-made pouches. I know that they have instructions on how to do it but I’m not very handy. Plus they wouldn’t stay closed. Other than that I love them and will be purchasing more when these run out. The packaging is pretty cute too !

Thank you very much for your feedback yba! This brought up a few good points!

We do want people to know that taking <1.5g in one pape is actually more difficult than taking one in the 2g+ dose range. This is because our papes were designed to accomadate larger amounts of powder. So in smaller doses, the weight of the pape in relation to the whole object being swallowed is much larger. We recommend dipping the pape just up to your fingers for less than one second, and then swallowing it within 5 seconds afterward.

One more thing for those out there learning, the type of solubility of the powder being consumed will actually change the rate at which the blate pape dissolves (normal ground leaf will leave more than enough time to swallow after dipping of course).

For example, here is one of our unlisted videos of raw cacao powder being dipped within a blate pape. As demonstrated, it is still ready to use after one minute: https://youtu.be/UfOoyMbb1aQ

But let's say someone wanted to consume a very water soluble powder in a blate pape, such as powdered sugar. In this case, because the powdered sugar would absorb water quickly, this pulls water from the gelling pape into the sugar to dissolve it, causing there to be liquid on both the inside and outside of the pouch much more quickly. Because of this, one would want to swallow the pouch within 5 seconds after dipping it in water to ensure that the pouch didn't dissolve through beforehand.

Thank you very much for your feedback MyCatTimmy, and the package compliments  ! Just wait for the hard case release, they're going to be FIRE!

For safety purposes though, we must mention that Blate Papes strongly recommends always dipping the pouch in water (or at the very least, wetted with water or liquid) before consumption!

This is because not doing so leaves the user open to two things:

1. A dry pape/pouch may not seal properly, leading it to possibly breaking open in your mouth while swallowing. Sealing happens when being dipped in water, as the water begins the pouch gelling process around the powdered contents.
2. A dry pape/pouch may stick to the back of your throat when swallowing, as the pouch absorbs water in order to gel. This can possibly cause one to choke!

Dipping the pouch in water briefly before swallowing greatly reduces the risk of these things happening!

But anyway we want to thank you both for your feedback again! We really appreciate the time and consideration it took for you both to do so!

Hopefully the others will chime in and let us know what they think as well!
