Benni Botanicals Review

Post by chaosmonkey »

I hate vendor shopping, so I've been putting it off far longer than I should have. But since my normal vendor hasn't restocked in almost a month and I'm tired of all the variability in quality (leaning mostly towards crap recently), and their customer service is about as friendly as a bowl of oatmeal, I gave in and did some research last week.

Thanks to you guys here, I tried two new (to me) vendors last week: STH and Benni Botanicals. So far, I'm pretty happy with both of them.

First, Benni. I placed an order on October 5 (a Monday), it shipped (free shipping! Yay!) on the 6th, and I received it on the 8th.

Benni's selection was pretty good at the time, although from what I've read he runs out of stuff pretty quickly(?). The price was very reasonable, especially considering I got a discount for... something. Ordering more than 3 strains, I think? It def added up to a decent amount off.

Also, I was able to use my preferred method of payment without leaving the site or needing a separate invoice, which was nice.

(I'm not sure if I should put my thoughts on the strains I ordered on this post or a separate one, so I'm putting them here. Let me know if I should separate them out or include them in both?)

I ordered Benni Super Yellow Kali, Benni MD Blend, Benni Super White Kali, and STH Super G Malay. He also threw in a free sample of Red Borneo String (which unfortunately I will not be touching. Reds and I don't get along*.)

I've tried each one of those (except the red) at least once, but my fave so far is, ironically, the STH Super Green Malay. It has a good bit of energy and a decent mood bump. I'm still trying to get the dose right, but it seems like one that I can take less of and still get the benefits.

The Benni Super WK didn't do much for me, although it might just not be a good morning strain.

The Benni Super YK seems to do well when blended with a white, but on it's own I found it on the slower side.

The Benni MD Blend feels like it's rating: a mid. Not really my thing, but I've gone back to it more than once, so I don't hate it at least. However, the grind on this one is beautifully suuuuper fine, like baby powder soft. I can imagine that it'd work well in capsules for that reason.

I was going to include STH in this post but I'm out of time so I'll need to split it off into a separate post. Prolly should do that anyway. :D

Lemme know if I can answer any questions or if I missed something. Also... This is my first time posting a vendor review (I think?) and I'm a little nervous; please be gentle.

*A bit on my strain preferences in case it could help someone else find their ideal strain: I have dealt with depression for most of my life and have PTSD from some awful things that happened when I was a kid, and I often have a hard time finding energy to get shit done. Because of this, I prefer fast(er), mood uplifting strains with a motivation boost and a good bit of focus.

I've found that red strains and anything red-adjacent are not my jam. They make me feel like curling up in a ball and crying, not something I enjoy.

I also don't do well with any of the Borneo strains, or Horns, or anything with the word "Hulu" in the name, at least not by itself.

Outside of those, I usually dig white strains, some greens, and a couple of yellows if they're blended with whites. I really like blends, such as white & green or white & yellow.

Yup, the STH SG Malay has been solid for a long time. It hits all the necessary receptors. I like it in large doses. Great stuff!

I’m terrified of Benni’s now. I ordered some a few months ago and it was totally different leaf and sent me into WD’s. It looks like he might have fixed the issue but I’m not ready to take the risk.

Good post and reviews.

I stopped ordering from Benni quite a while ago. I really like everything about them except for the actual kratom; I wished it worked better for me.

I don't know what else you got from STH. I like the SGM too, and the last batch of White Banjo I bought from him (a few months ago) was fantastic as far as moodlift and energy goes; White Smile is really nice too; not quite as "fast" as the W. Banjo, but def powerful and "up". Around half of the STH strains I've tried don't hit for me at all, though I've enjoyed a few quite a bit.

If you're looking for some faster/more euphoric strains, you might have good luck with Rhino, Lucky's, or TFH next time they have an open event. The folks that run those places are usually happy (and accurate) in providing recommendations if you describe what you're looking for.

Great post OP! There's been some negativity here and your positivity is very welcome, both the subject and the review.

I have never ordered from Benni, but have some trades to sample when I get around to it. He seems to have a business more like Botanical Bunny but with less of a following.

Bennis customer service is fantastic. Unfortunately his Kratom doesn’t mesh with me at all. Even the Super Green that was apparently tested at 2.4 Mit did nothing. The White Lida was okay, and I got a sample of the String Dried (lol) Green Tambora before it was out, which was absolutely fantastic leaf. I just get more misses than hits. But some people’s chemistry seem to jive with his leaf. And like I said, his customer service is great. But his Kratom (personally, for me, and my chemistry) is just below average. I want it to be good, but wanting and wishing hasn’t worked for me. So many good vendors out there with Fire right now

Whoa you should give us a bit more info. You ordered from Bennis(what strain?) and it sent you into withdrawals? I've honestly never heard of that happening with Benni or Kratom of any kind. Did you take subuxone or some other opiate like medication prior to taking his Kratom?

Benni has the best customer service in the game. His leaf was quite potent when I first started ordering from him but then I started noticing some misses. I'd order a large purchase of mixed 100 gram bags. Most seemed to be solid Kratom but I did start noticing bags that did pretty much nothing. It was disappointing but I know how Kratom can be but I just ordered again from Benni so I'll see how it is

Btw which vendors have such top notch Kratom right now?give us a few names!

Hey guys..First post here! I have been using kratom for about 6 months and untill recently have only ordered from benni. Sure there have been a couple of misses but I think the quality overall is very good.. Now that I have tried some other vendors I still feel very confident ordering from him. Super Green and Green Goddess have been some if my favorites.
