TFH Multi-Strain Review

Post by Klyded »

Hey hey folks! I was going bonkers in recent history posting quite a few reviews so I decided to cool my jets and wrap this one into a neat little package- considering the privilage of the re-open right around the bend, I'm gonna focus more so on the strains that are available for now... but I cannot contain my excitement as some demand mention anyhow and I may continue to update this post with more anecdotes!

And yea, TFH is now and must forever be in rotation for me- I say, break the bank during these opens and I am more than comfortable saying it!! After trying more of their menu than I'll admit to during the last open  and with the additions in recent history I am just continually astounded. It is one thing to have superb leaf, but another entirely to have leaf so characteristic I'd dare say they have personality

Sun-Dried Relaxing Red: BA1-3
-- This was all the slow-down-and-smell-the-roses-glory of the Chocolate Bent for me, but to the 2nd power. I primarily use the Choco bent for blending and slowing down strains for the evening that I find appreciable but are too fast acting or uppity for a day ender. SDRR here accomplished that in blends for me but seemingly to greater degree of slow-down. Mind you, slow-down is somewhat misleading as there is a definitive anxiolytic mood impact when blending this or by it's lonesome as well. Its a powerful mellow without over-powering sedation.
7/10

Wild Red TFH: WM12 -- Even though I'd call this a daytime red, I've been using it to snooze. Why?? Because it is exceptionally soothing of the mind for me. A lights out "upstairs" enables me to shut the body down and gee-golly does this present itself as "all is right and perfect in the world". Pain relieving, swirling with a thick streak of comfort warming my grey matter. I just feel content with the WRTFH. This is interesting for me personally because I anticipated more bodily relief and instead felt I signed up for a very slow and mood-boosting green with still the perks of the pain-slaying red.
8/10

Jade Hulu SSV: AC-07 -- that slower, mood-boosting green I just mentioned??? Ohhh yea, then there is the Jade Hulu :D I went in, expecting something of a Jade Indo experience given the naming convention- but no! To my surprise and elation I got something that reminded me a bit of the Old Green River Harvest for those that have it- but with a bit more pep. I REALLY adore this one as it is a great "light duty" focused strain with such a "happy" upgrade it's just a great mood in a bag for me.
9/10

Wild Premium Kali SG: SB13 -- This is a 9.5/10 for me just because I'd feel remiss ever giving a flat out 10/10... unless it was the Wild Crafted Gold  (just kidding..sort of)..... okay all kidding aside, this has been one of my absolute favorites since the last open. It is hard to express how "well rounded" could be so unique, but here it is most certainly so. I remember reading long ago some random write up about a super green malay that described it as being "completely different from all other kratom in a manner that is JUST different enough to be distinctively its own experience albeit a familiar one" and totally not understanding what that meant. The Premium Kali, I get it now. It's as to say there is contrast in comfort between "security" and "nostalgia"- they feel similar but still a nuance differentiates the two.

I'm rambling a bit but TLDR WPKSG reaches deep into the recesses and resources of my meat-suit to make me feel as though I move and glow with a different brand of joy than other "well rounded" and potent offerings.

Wild Super Green TFH: MTW-3 -- I found this to be a straight-forward and uplifting mid-fast green. More than one could hope for in terms of quality but less "exotic" and more "lets get the job done well" mojo for me. Faster onset with a reliable focus-factor. Not my favorite but it would be if I had a more physically active day/job
7/10

Wild White Hulu Kapuas: IRSD-4 and Wild Premium White Kali: ASB-12

Why I am summing up these both at once...? To speak separately about my "ideal" white would be redundant. A perfect white for me is one with a certain impervious brand of optimism that outshines the speed. "Fast" only zooms around in the background of an exuberant anti-depressant quality that I MAY sometimes find in other strains, but I'd call them mislabeled whites ;) I've often found these whites are what some folks call "mid" or "slow" whites but I don't always think that accurate. Sometimes the optimism is more mellow and center stage with all speed I need still there and THAT is these two ^^ Brother and sister, perfecto whites for me with the Hulu being the more mellow of the two and the Kali the more intense/boosting.

9's /1

Wild Crafted White TFH: SD-A2 -- This one very reliably hit me more like a traditional mid-white that could make me forget my coffee and get right to business. A great white for a day when I must zip from task to task with a degree of focus that helps me operate as though I don't have an attention deficit problem. For the record, that is a GREAT white for me but not one that has me distracted and checking myself because I feel "too good" such as the 2 listed above.
8/10

Old School Green Bali: MIR-2 -- I can see this being favored by someone who doesn't want to be overwhelmed, or may have fear of taking a bit too much too much. That is not to say it isn't potent in the traditonal senses one hopes kratom will be, but moreover that it hits me quite mildly. A gentle landing into a pleasant mood, ease of movement, lack of ache and with a good disposition without realizing I am Kratomized!! LOL
7/10

Sunset Bali: SD-VS1 -- While it will sound strange, this is the PERFECT red to me  Hear me out!! I always want a red to sedate me but make me happier than I am tired. I also hope it will kill my pain, relax my muscles but NOT make me lazy. I love chilling out and being able to get really invested in escapism (games, movies, books) before snoozing. I'm often blending a red with yellow or gold to achieve this, and the SB is just the total package of a great evening for me. Kudos for such appropriate naming convention with this one :D I love this and will stash more when opportunity presents itself!.
KALI SG LEVEL OF LOVE with a strrroooong 9.5/10 ;)

I will likely return to this thread and update with more as the days roll on! I'm terribly motivated to share further, my experience trying to explore as much of the TFH menu as I possibly could. It's like a personal goal now! Have a great day and be good to yourself.

UPDATE

Wild Red Vietnam: CA-8 – This is an interesting animal here. Not as straightforward as one might find a daytime red. The boost and relief are subtle, as is the spring lended to one’s step- but an enduring, sober-minded sense of well being could very well be the ticket in some instances!! For me, working on certain forms of artwork such as sculpting demands I don’t feel tooooo much spring in my step-LOL.. I can comfortably say this is a very “realistic” mood boost for me as well. I’m not elated or overtly optimistic but sensible and self aware here. Perhaps a fantastic “afternoon at the office” type of strain. How often can I say productivity and sensibility are perks of a red?? Not often
7/10 (solid selection highly dependent upon what you are looking for- it’s gonna really suit some situations perfectly but not always what you may be bargaining for burning a red)

Red Aceh: KG24 and Green Aceh: KG24 talk -- The Aceh’s stand all on their own as very consistent daytime selections. In fact, both the Red and Green Aceh provide a similar focused and cerebral energy- I feel they motivate my body through my mind. This was most prominent for me with the Deep Jungle White Aceh which I hope someday returns to the menu but that isn’t to say the Green and Red are not without merits of their own! While the green does make me more serendipitous and talkative- the relief of the red is top notch and ALSO imparts that quality wonderfully to a blend without the slow down for me. The Red then, must be noted for having a special place in the cabinet for a bad pain day without the luxury of taking it slow. I’d say easily the Green wins the day in the mood department but oddly enough some rounds I swear I get MORE energy from the Red.. Sometimes hard to distinguish though considering pain in and of itself can be the cause of the slowdown… go figure. :P

In either case, sometimes I am just REALLY in need of the mental fortitude I source quite easily from the experience with the Aceh’s which I don’t find to be inherent in all krat-tastical experiences.

8/10 but respectively, on any given day I could give whichever I’m finding preferable a 9/10

Wild Crafted Gold TFH: A6IR – I have already raved about this one during the last open but golly… what if someone reading this just is catching these open’s NOW!!??? Inquiring minds must know the truth!! The holy grail of plant matter may indeed just happen to be this… I shit you not. Now of course, we all know “everyone is different” but however it is “I am” this strain just resonates with me perfectly. One of those strains that I could distinctly recall my first burn with very visually simply because it hit every note symphonically, years into daily kratom use and with a real questionable tolerance. I could only appropriately call this one my “Maeng Da”. It is difficult for me to pin down whether the speed in this one comes from the optimistic expectations of something awesome being just around the bend, or if I’m running off shear kratomic energy because they swirl so symbiotically – I could ask for nothing more from good medicine.
The Chosen and True 9.5/10

NOTE: I believe experiences like the one mentioned above with the Wild Crafted Gold stem from introducing a variation of the alkaloid profile still foreign enough to what the body is used to, to have a "new leaf" honeymoon with some strains. It has happened on occasion to all of us, I am certain of this and strains that illicit this I cannot help but believe are "special" if for nothing more than their dissimilarity in a game where contrast and relativity make all the difference in the world (keep mind body and tolerance always guessing).

I LOL'ed hard  thank you for that!!

Thing is, it proves very compelling for me to communicate my adoration of things. Some of the most rewarding discoveries of my time on this rock was because of something someone communicated. And with kratom the value of translating an experience just holds more weight than an anecdote could in other forums.

Even with the "fickle leaf" aside, it is still imperative to know in black and white where such profound relief can be uncovered. The value of all of us reporting in on the "this worked and that didnt" can help genuinely and immediately improve one another experiences and that will never cease to be awesome to me.

And truly, what better opportunity to speak than when the ears of inquiring minds are already open to listen with curiosity? Something about talking kratom reminds me of chatting with friends at a lunch table before the advent of the internet when a conversation and what had to be shared had greater gravity and impact because "how else were you gonna exchange and learn secrets in the legend of zelda???" :?: :ugeek:

Klyde your “ lunch table “ analogy was spot on. That’s how this forum makes me feel, like I’m talking to a group of friends

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this. His Mellow Yellow PMD and 20 Year Green Hangat have been my favorite. You have my sold on the Green Kali, White Hulu or Kali, Sunset, and Gold for this upcoming sale.

See, that is of value! I will be certain to take note of any reviews you post in the future, friend! When folks identify having similar experiences it is certainly wise to pay mind to what else they find appreciable or not . Thank you!! **kratomic fist bump**

As a super fan of the Jade Hulu, I think I'm going to add Sunset Bali to my next order. Seems like our tastes align!

Can anyone elaborate on the difference between the Wild White Vietnam and the Wild White Hulu? I’m so picky with whites. Only some work well for me. TIA

for me, if remembering right, the w. vietnam was slower than the Wild Hulu....i truly enjoyed the hulu much more than the white vietnam, in the sense it felt more like how I want a white to feel.
