This is a great uplifting kava. Moreso on the heady side of the spectrum. I look forwards to going to a social event with it flowing in my veins. Bula my friends!

Thanks for getting the kava section kicked off. :lol:

I am going to order some soon. I really want to try it. I heard it can sometimes cause insomnia though, and I suffer from that enough as it is. How many days a week do you use it?

@e_poison

I use it 1-2 times a week before 5pm. Insomnia is an uncommon side effect. I get it and have talked to one other person that does too. Most people get a great nights sleep

Just had a little 11 year WAKA (micronized) before dinner tonight. Great way to wind down after a long day of work. I'll have some also 1-2 times a week. Sometimes will do the full process (kneading the medium grind root), but I'm pretty lazy and I like the micro just fine. KWK's micros are good too.

Is it better to get it already ground or do it myself? I'm not quite sure how to prepare it.

A damn fine question. I only found this article (sorta) on the subject - https://www.kavatime.us/blogs/kava-blog ... nized-kava. Based on this I should think it best to buy already micronized product . An alternative is the aluball. It is sorta like a blender bottle that holds the medium grind kava in a mesh ball. People swear by it and I have been curious to try one myself. I have even heard reports that it is great for micronized so you aren't ingesting so much plant matter. As I sit here with a somewhat irritated stomach due to the 8 T or so of micronized I ingested I can't help but wonder if this isn't a bad idea. All this being said preparing micronized is easy as hell. Mix with a liquid, stir, and you are good to go. One thing to keep in mind with kava is that kavalactones are fat soluble. I often use milk but I have also added soy lecithin to water to make it a little better at extracting. I don't think the fat is very important with micronized since you are ingesting the plant matter too. I personally haven't noticed a difference in micronized in water vs milk. I am fond of using hazelnut non-dairy milks (soy, almond, rice) as a mixer as it does reduce the perfumed dirt flavor of kava that many find offputting.
