The Complete Kratom Experience - Educate Yourself - Benchmark for Quality - Mix your own strain.
Are you on a never-ending quest to find the Ultimate Kratom "Strain"? Want to categorically experiment with all that Kratom has to offer?
A lot of people mistakenly believe that there are dozens of genetic varietals of Kratom like Cannabis, but it is simply untrue. Kratom is more like Tea. It all comes from the same plant, but vary by how much it's oxidized and fermented. It is possible that there are genetic variants (phenotypes most likely) in Indonesian Kratom Horticulture, however a distinction is not currently made by Farmers. Ie they grow only one "strain" of Kratom. There is no genetic variant like "vein color" being cultivated. Every plant produces all 3 vein colors throughout it's life, and there is no evidence that the color causes any significant changes to the chemical profile of the leaf.
This $50 sampler covers what is presumably the full spectrum of alkaloid profiles found in Kratom: 4 different types of Kratom along with 3 popular blends (red, white, green) from various parts of Indonesia.
Levels of the 2 main alkaloids Mitragynine and 7ohm trade-off within the Kratom Leaf depending on the level of oxidation. In a lab, direct exposure of Mitragynine to the sun, caused it to convert to 7 Hydroxymitragynine (a much stronger opioid agonist: with greater Mu Opioid Receptor Activity than that of Morphine. Outdoor, sun dried leaf is higher in 7ohm than that dried in the dark, which has only trace amounts. The process of photooxidation is what's presumably responsible for this conversion. This variance is what accounts for the dozens of “strains” being marketed in Indonesia. It's all identical genetically, it's just dried differently yielding varying alkaloid profiles.
Mitragynine (Yellow/Gold) is a mild mu opioid receptor agonist, but is dopaminergic and serotonergic. It also is adeno
7ohm (Red/Brown) is a mu opioid receptor agonist and is more relaxing.
These 2 alkaloids comprise most of the Opioid experience in Kratom and are the only components that can be controlled for during propagation. Every strain in the book is nothing more than varying proportions of these 2 alkaloids, ie. a blend of indoor dried and sun dried Kratom: ALL "STRAINS" ARE BLENDS
