Garuda - "Super Green" Review

Post by KrateAndVape »

*This is my personal experience with / opinion of / how I've been affected by this particular strain / vendor. Your experience may vary. No two people react exactly the same way to Kratom. Remember to find your optimal dose. My "normal dose" may not be yours.*

Instead of rating on a scale of 1 to 10, I'll be logging how this strain affected me as either "not noticeable", "barely noticeable", "noticeable", "very noticeable" or "extremely noticeable" in five catagories.

Energy / Focus / Motivation = Very Noticeable

Euphoria / Mood = Very Noticeable

Relaxation / Calming / "Chill Effect" = Noticeable at first, Extremely Noticeable later

Sedation = Not Noticeable at first, Very Noticeable later

Pain Relief = Noticeable

I started with 80% of my normal dose (i.e.: If my normal dose is 5g, I took 4.) on an empty stomach. Mild onset at about 50 minutes. Redosed 40% of my normal dose 1 hour after initial dose. A half hour later, I experienced good euphoria / mood uplift / focus. Moderate knee pain seemed to subside. Not sedating. Energy seemed to be building ever so slowly.
2 hours after initial dose, I wrote in my journal: "Not a bad burn, but not amazing. Middle of the road (...so far). But I like the mood effects very much. Smooth. Level. But slightly jittery... like a small amount of white vein does to me. Nothing major."
30 minutes later: "Wow! Very good euphoria!" Both euphoria and energy gently / very slowly crept up on me. Not a sudden 'Boom! I'm here!' effect."

Duration was about 5 hours. Peak came about mid-way. I noticed light sedation at about 3 hours , just as I was starting to eat. This seemed to happen more sudden than the energy and euphoria build-up experience. By the end of the burn I might have been able to take a nap if I wanted to. But I won't be taking this as a nighttime dose / sleep assistor. Good as an "ease into the day" morning dose or an early to mid afternoon "keep on truckin'" strain. Was definitely not comparable to a "quick pick-me-up" cup of coffee.

I also have "Wild Green" and "Super Maeng Da" from this vendor and am curious about how they compare.

Since this is the first strain I'm reviewing from Garuda, I'll wrap-up with a word about this vendor:
First time ordering from Garuda. Placed order 10:30 Tuesday morning. Received tracking information 12 hours later. Received package Thursday. Packaging was decent. Discreet labeling. I received everything I ordered. No samples included.

"Super Green" is on the bottom-right in both pictures.

SOMEONE found the font color button...

It's cool, though! Makes it lively to read.

Great pics, and well thought out, detailed, and informative review. Made me want some. :D Thanks!

Thanks Whiffy :D There's actually a method to my color madness. a.) I "stole" the idea from someone else on here. I just maybe embelashed it a little. b.) The colors I chose are actually close representatives of the categories (as close as I could get, in my own interpretation, and it still be readable). I want to link the article I used, but I must have clicked-off of that tab and it's gone and I don't remember... But you can google search something like "moods and color" and get what I was going for. There are many different interpretations. Actually, I'm not sure how I feel about it. A part of me likes the idea, but in execution I feel it's a little distracting when reading. Kinda' a pain to do too. Of course, subsequent reviews will be easier, now that I've chose the colors (if I use the same ones... if I use them again at all). Have a great day, Whiffy!

It's all good. Reminds me of Eye_No_Nuttin's emoji-studded/ALL CAPS posts on Reddit: very busy but a pleasure to read. And absolutely unique. :D

Thanks man! You have a good one too!

Thanks for the review - very well written, and in color!

I have some of the Garuda Super Green and liked it so much I purchased more, provides batch numbers so you can reorder ( i appreciate batch numbers!)
I find it a well balanced green with an emphasis for an elevated mood, mid spec and finely ground.
It was a good experience ordering from Hudson Valley Botanicals, shipped promptly and a free sample in my first order - will definitely revisit Garuda
